Our Method

Our Landscape Architects start by listening to our clients' goals for their landscape. Most clients put a good deal of thought into their project prior to our initial contact. We would like to gather all of this information. Our pursuit is to fit their goals with the existing architecture and site to create a seamless project.

Initial Meeting

A series of points will be discussed so our landscape architect can gather the information needed to begin the design process.

  • Goals, needs, expectations for the project
  • Do you entertain - often, occasionally?
  • Number of guests at a time
  • Do you like to garden?
  • Plan likes/dislikes
  • Maintenance expectations
  • Budget considerations

Conceptual Plan

landscape plan

The conceptual plan will be developed with information received at the initial meeting, site data collected and photos. The plan will be a scaled, color drawing and include all structural elements, planting, and turf areas. The plan will provide the basis for a detailed discussion of the proposed project. Revisions can be done at this point and preliminary budgets completed.

Final Plan Presentation

The final plans will also be our working drawings. A plant list, construction materials, site elevations, and lighting layouts will be included. A final budget will be provided for the entire project, or in sections if desired. The application process for any necessary government approvals and permits can then begin.

Construction/Installation Phase

This phase can be handled entirely by our staff. Our managers will take the project to conclusion, thus saving the project owners any of the management burden. Our services page outlines some of the project elements that we will provide.

Landscape Care/Maintenance

The conclusion of the installation phase is the time to begin maintenance. Proper long term maintenance will insure the new investment will continue to grow and provide enjoyment for years to come. Instructions for proper care will be provided upon project completion. We can also provide annual pruning, spring cleanup, fertilization, mulching, pool maintenance, and seasonal color changes.
